Playa Hotels & Resorts N.V. (NASDAQ: PLYA, “Playa”), today entered a definitive agreement for a business combination with Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (“Sagicor”) whereby Sagicor will contribute to Playa a portfolio of five all-inclusive resorts and two adjacent oceanfront developable land sites located on the desirable North Coast of Jamaica.

The Sanctuary Cap Cana marks the first new brand addition since Playa became a public company in March of this year, as it joins Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara and Panama Jack Resorts under the management of Playa Hotels and Resorts.
Playa’s resorts in Mexico and Jamaica were not impacted by the storm’s path. Playa’s three resorts in the Dominican Republic sustained minor impact but no significant damage or injuries were reported.
In his new role as Chief Accounting Officer, Mr. Buhler will be responsible for leading the Company’s corporate accounting, financial systems, internal controls and financial reporting.
The planned luxury 750-room resort complex will feature both a Hyatt Zilara hotel for adults and a Hyatt Ziva hotel for guests of all ages within the same 40 plus acres’ beachfront site.

Playa Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Danny Rose to Vice President of Digital Content & E-commerce. Rose will be responsible for the growth of Playa’s online presence and implementation of new multi-platform technologies.
